Will this bag work as a personal item for flights? Or is it too large, therefore qualifying only as a carry-on?

Best Answer · I just traveled with this bag across the country and used it as a personal item. Fit perfectly under the seat and surprisingly has a lot of room in it as well for a weekend trip. I had a layover so 4 flights total over the weekend and it was always fine as a personal item. I could even take it on a very small puddle jumper and they didn't make me check it. Hope this helps!

I think it would perfectly for a personal items flight bag...I just used it last weekend for an over nighter and I got so many compliments.

It will definitely work as a personal item. It's actually smaller than I expected -- more like a really big purse than a weekender.

Perfect, then! None of my purses are big enough, oddly.

It is perfect as a carry on but I think the handles should be bigger so I can put the purse around my shoulders.

I've used it as a personal item a few flights with no issues to date. It fits under the seat just fine.

Best Answer · Yes, there are. I used this bag all summer- work, vacations, everything- and it still looks brand new. Even the bottom.

I see that you've described vegan leather, but did not mention that it is not made from animals. Can you confirm that vegan leather is not made from animals?
      · Add Your Answer · Votes 0 0 · Janelle D on Jun 19, 2014
Best Answer · No, it's not real leather. It's another material from non-animal sources. Vegan leather can include:

Vegetan: This is a microfibre material that is specifically designed and used as an animal-friendly leather substitute.
Lorica: This material is made out of several different microfibers. Sidi, an Italian motorcycle company uses it a lot.
Birko-Flor: This is what eco-icon Birkenstock uses. It’s made out of acrylic and polyamide felt fibres. There are two kinds — the kind you find on normal Birks and a kind that looks like pleather.
Birkibuc: Another Birkenstock baby. It’s made out of the same stuff, but looks and feels like nubuck leather.
PVC: Finally, a term you should be familiar with! Good for animals. Not so good for environment.
Kydex: This is an acrylic-PVC alloy. It’s produce by Kleerdex, a manufacturing company.

It appears that the red bag is lined, but the tan and the black are not. Is this the case?

I have the tan one; it is not lined.

What is vegan leather? Does it feel like leather?
      · Add Your Answer · Votes 0 0 · A shopper on Jun 11, 2014
Vegan leather does not contain harmful plastics such as poly vinyl chloride (or PVC). Our vegan leather bags are made only with Poly Urethane (or PU). In comparison to PVC, PU is a better material because:
      • Its natural, leather-like texture does not require the solvents (or harmful chemicals) used to soften PVC throughout the manufacturing process.
      • It can be designed to deteriorate after a period of time which is great for the environment where as PVC is not biodegradable.
      • Even though PU is biodegradable, it's still a much more durable, quality material unlike PVC.
